The Peace Crane Project invites every student on the planet to fold an origami crane, write a message of peace on its wings, then exchange it with another student somewhere in the world.

The Project builds friendships, strengthens hand-eye coordination and writing skills, teaches geography, exposes students to new languages and cultures, and EMPOWERS YOUTH to make a difference in their community, country, and world.

Classrooms, teachers, students, schools, community groups, and individuals are welcome. It’s FREE to participate! Looking for a project for your kids during the pandemic? Look through our resources. When the time comes for a global exchange, please sign up!

Here’s How To Join:

1-SIGN UP
Join our Facebook group to meet other groups interested in exchanging cranes and greetings. Many exchange cranes around Peace Day, but we host exchanges every day of the year!

2-CHOOSE AN EXCHANGE PARTNERNEW FOR 2021! Post your exchange requests to our Facebook group. This will all you to post, edit, and delete your own exchange requests anytime. We are there to help you, every step of the way.

3-FOLD YOUR PEACE CRANES – get folding guides here
Want something easier to fold? Try our guides to folding a dove or heart! We even have coloring pages for the little ones.

4-SEND A PACKAGE – GET A PACKAGE
Received confirmation from your exchange partner? Ask for their postal address! Send your artwork and messages to your exchange partner. Wait for their package to arrive! Hot tip! If you don’t have the budget for postage, trade via email – it’s free!

5-GET YOUR CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION
Send us a photo of your event and we will send you a Certificate of Participation!
