Training Course – Building Resilient Communities: Youth Work and Natural Disasters

Training Course

15-19 September 2025 | Athens, Greece

A training program focused on strengthening the role of youth work in building resilient communities, mitigating the impact of natural disasters on young people, and fostering Erasmus+/Youth projects addressing climate change challenges.

Aim

To create a space for reflection, identification, and analysis of how youth work can contribute to building community resilience against natural disasters while empowering young people to take action.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness on climate change and its impact on young people.
  • Equip youth workers with tools to support communities before, during, and after disasters.
  • Foster collaboration and Erasmus+/Youth initiatives to tackle disaster-related challenges.
  • Strengthen the capacity of youth organizations in disaster preparedness and response.

Target Group

  • Youth workers, trainers, and educators.
  • Representatives of youth organizations and NGOs.
  • Young leaders and activists passionate about climate resilience.
  • Individuals interested in Erasmus+/Youth projects on disaster management.

Important to know

  • The working language will be (international) English. Your English does not have to be perfect, but you need to be able to follow presentations and have discussions in English.
  • You will be by default accommodated in twin rooms (a great opportunity to get to know a colleague youth worker better), but if you have a specific reason to have a single room, we can cater for that.

How to apply

  • Apply via the Apply Now button on this page
  • Follow the Erasmus+ Youth Greece Facebook page to be informed of future training courses. Or keep an eye on the European Training Calendar.
