Ouro e Orixes (Gold & Origins) is an Erasmus+ youth exchange that brings together 30 young people to explore Europe’s cultural diversity. Through interactive activities, discussions, and creative workshops, we will uncover our shared heritage, traditions, and stories, while strengthening key soft skills. Set in Carucedo, near the gold mines of Las Médulas, this project aims to promote European values, acting as an antidote against intolerance and discrimination. By working together, we will challenge stereotypes, develop empathy, and enhance creativity, fostering tolerance and intercultural communication for a more inclusive future.

We are looking for 5 participants who meet the following criteria:

• Enthusiastic, interested in the topic and aware that we will be in a rural area
• Participants who are motivated to contribute and learn during the project
• Able to participate the whole project (participants will not be able to arrive after or to leave before the arrival/departure day is establish on the project)
• A basic level of English to communicate
• Open to exchange experiences with participants from other cultures

• Participants will be hosted in “Las Cabañas de Carucedo” a rural bungalow complex located next to Lake Carucedo, a perfect natural environment for activities such as kayaking or hiking.
• All meals and activities will be organized at the complex. Next to it there are some bars, for which we recommend bringing cash.
• Bungalows will be shared up to 6 people in each of them, separated by gender, and we will seek to mix teams for a greater immersion in the intercultural group.
• Travel costs will be reimbursed up to the limit defined by the Erasmus+ distance calculator (based on actual distance)
• There is no participation fee.
