ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project “A Step Towards a Life Without Darkness,” is a significant volunteering initiative funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme. This project aims to address the critical issue of high lung cancer rates globally, with a particular focus on Turkey. By mobilizing volunteers and leveraging community engagement, the project seeks to create awareness, provide education, and foster a supportive network for those affected by lung cancer.
A central component of the initiative involves organizing weekly meetings, which serve as a platform for volunteers and stakeholders to plan activities, share updates, and strategize on effective outreach methods. These meetings ensure that the project remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of the community.
One of the major activities is the preparation for the 11th International Oncology Days. This event is crucial for disseminating the latest research, sharing best practices, and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, researchers, and volunteers. The conference aims to advance the fight against lung cancer through knowledge exchange and innovation.
Additionally, the project includes weekly visits to youth organizations. These visits are designed to engage younger generations in cancer awareness and prevention activities, instilling the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyles. By targeting youth, the project aims to build a foundation for long-term impact and cultural change.
