ABOUT THE PROJECT

The primary objective of this project is to support young people from diverse cultural backgrounds in enhancing their intercultural competence. By providing them with the tools and opportunities to engage with and learn from one another, the project aims to foster an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Central to the project’s approach is the development of guidelines for using music as a non-formal learning method. Music, a universal language that transcends cultural barriers, serves as a powerful medium for inspiring intercultural dialogue. These guidelines will outline practical strategies for using music to create meaningful interactions among young people, thereby promoting a deeper understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultural expressions.

In addition to fostering intercultural dialogue, the project is dedicated to empowering young individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate and thrive in multicultural environments. A key component of this empowerment is the creation of a photo blog focused on music. This photoblog will serve as a dynamic platform for participants to document and share their musical experiences and insights, thereby actively combating racism and promoting a positive narrative around cultural diversity. The project also aims to enhance the competencies of youth in addressing issues of racism and promoting inclusive communication.

The project is committed to promoting the values of diversity, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, and the common principles of freedom, tolerance, and respect for human rights. By bringing together young people from various cultural and religious backgrounds, the project creates a space where these values can be actively practiced and celebrated. Participants will not only gain a greater appreciation for their own and others’ cultural heritage but also develop a collective commitment to upholding these shared values in their communities.
