This 8 day Course in Georgia will provide the hard skills and pedagogical approaches how to use outdoor education and climbing as an effective tool for forging community development and building sustainable professional connections between youth workers.

This 8 day Training Course in Georgia will provide  the necessary hard skills and pedagogical approaches to use outdoor education and climbing as an effective tool for forging community development and building sustainable professional connections between youth workers and civil society organisations in the European Union and neighbouring countries. The project will be based in the Sveri Adventure Camp in the Imereti region of Georgia.

The project aims to: – contribute to further develop the recognition of Outdoor Education, non-formal education in both the EU and neighbouring countries within the frame of the Erasmus+ programme participating countries – create the foundations for developing quality partnerships and projects between professionals and civil society organisations in Erasmus+ programme and partner countries – equip participants with an effective and exciting tool (specifically community climbing) to enrich their professional profiles and enable them to offer attractive and relevant activities to diverse target groups in their everyday youth work Through participating in this project participants will: – Understand how to use climbing as an effective tool in non-formal and experiential education – Gain practical understanding of the management processes for organizing a group outdoors – Learn how to promote values of inclusion and diversity through outdoor education methods – Gain hard skills through being trained to German Alpine Club standards in: Abseiling techniques, Building belay stands, risk analysis and risk management, ropework and rescue techniques – Gain theoretical and practical understanding of group dynamics in Outdoor Education – Learn how to give and receive feedback and to use reflection as a pedagogical tool – Embark on a journey of personal development through stepping outside of their comfort zone and exploring new ways of learning how to learn. – Benefit from an environment of peer learning – Gain an understanding of the Erasmus+ Youth, Sport and Adult Education programme and the funding opportunities available within the framework of Key Action 1 and Key Action 2.
