ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION
Märchenkoffer e.V is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to support multilingualism and mother tongues of children with migrational backgrounds. We allow children and teenagers living in Hanover to practice their native language in an informal setting. The project includes regular classes, as well as workshops, holiday celebrations, and camps. Our regular language classes are more like hobby groups. Children can choose a field that is interesting to them: arts, science, theater, history, mathematics, chess, literature, or all at once. Much attention in our work is paid to the development of concentration, memory, and the ability to work for results. We teach children to ask questions, learn new things – independently or in a group; and be interested in what’s around them. We carry out many projects every year. Among them are aftercare, and workshops on various topics on weekends, including scientific, creative, and culinary topics. The organization also invests a lot of time into developing the multicultural community in the town, maintaining social networks, promoting the idea of solidarity, and cooperating with politicians and other organizations in the city of Hannover and the surrounding area.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD & TRAVELLING
Volunteers will receive a monthly pocket money of 380 Euros to cover their expenses. Additionally, they will have a payment for a room or apartment, ensuring comfortable accommodation throughout the volunteering period. To ensure the well-being and safety of the volunteers, insurance coverage is also included. Volunteers will have the opportunity to take individual German lessons with a native speaker, enhancing language skills and communication abilities. Volunteers will also participate in two weeks of ESC seminars alongside other volunteers, fostering learning, collaboration, and networking.
Volunteers are encouraged to attend the organizations’ events as well as events hosted by other youth organizations, broadening their horizons and enriching their cultural understanding. This program offers a unique opportunity to connect with volunteers from around the world, creating a diverse and supportive community. Additionally, volunteers can practice various languages, including Russian, English, German, and more, further enhancing their linguistic abilities and global communication skills.
