E-learning

9 June 2023 | Online, Lithuania

We are sharing an invitation to all youth workers or people engaged with groups on themes of critical thinking, media literacy, political participation and active citizenship!

Mark in your calendars: June 9, 11:30-12:30 (Eastern European Standard Time)
Location: MS Teams

Register here by June 7 to get the link to the event: https://forms.gle/59ZxXHd2sxNusDUg7

You will learn about new teaching tools on critical thinking and political participation designed for you and how to apply it in your everyday work:

  • a helpful e-course with relevant examples, funny images and useful infographics. The practical exercises at the end of each topic will be especially beneficial for those who teach critical thinking and political participation to others!
  • engaging and educational board-games, that can be used in the classroom or on your casual board-game night! Try to spread your web of lies and conquer the media or become a freshly baked politician and try to fulfill your pre-electoral pledges. Over 10 new games can be used for all types of groups: from small (2-6 players) to large (10+ players) and very large groups (25 players and more).

The games and the e-course are delivered to you by three NGOs from the Baltic States. Network “Learn before you vote” (hosted by “Europos namai”) from Lithuania created the political participation content. Skeptics Society of Latvia (also known as SkeptiCafe) put together the critical thinking part of the course. Shokkin Group Estonia led the development of educational games. The project was co-funded by the European Union (Erasmus+ programme).

For 10 years our organisations have aimed to boost civic resilience and political participation of especially young people. But we often felt lacking the tools to engage with young people in interactive conversations about politics and making informed choices during elections. This is why we have created these materials that we now want to share with you!
