This is the last in a series of three webinars focusing on the main topics of the European Year of Youth: Creating a GREENER, more INCLUSIVE and DIGITAL Europe. This interactive session highlights the importance of young people in shaping Europe’s future and provides an opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and competences relevant to supporting young people in their civic engagement and professional development.
In “A Digital Europe”, three speakers will discuss supporting media literacy and digitalisation among young people and youth workers:
Ludovica Formicola is the Chair of the Governing Body of the European Youth Parliament (EYP), where she oversees promoting active citizenship education and establishing channels for exchange of ideas between youth and policy makers. Ludovica will present the results of the European Youth Parliament’s Future of Europe Youth Poll, gathering young Europeans’ opinions on the EU’s digital transformation and future employment opportunities. She will also discuss how the EYP’s digital transition during the Covid-19 pandemic led to greater outreach and inclusion in their initiatives.
Thomas Doppelreiter works on media and information literacy and employment with Austria-based LOGO Jugendmanagement. A youth worker for 10 years, he worked on Erasmus+ projects FAKE OFF and HateBusters aiming to the internet a friendlier place. He will present the ‘Train the Trainer’ program, which teaches multipliers how to work with young people on digital literacy topics.
Nino Chaladze is an attorney with working experience at the Parliament of Georgia, Ministry of Finance, and BAR Association of Georgia. She is passionate about non-formal education and takes part in various Erasmus+ training courses, youth exchanges, and mobilities of youth workers. Recently, she has joined NGO Space as a project coordinator. Nino will speak about her experience in the project “Document it Yourself” and how media projects can empower young people.
