ETS COMETS: The digital dimension
Training Course / 21-27 June 2022 | Germany
This five day learning experience will support advanced trainers in their reflection on the digital dimension in their work as trainers. Activities within the COMETS series are based on the ETS Competence Model for Trainers Working Internationally.
This COMETS will explore the newly added digital dimension of the ETS Competence Model for Trainers Working Internationally. The digital dimension is not a seperate competence area but has been integrated transversally throughout the Competence Model.
As a space for professional peer learning amongst trainers in international youth work, COMETS offers trainers the opportunity to reflect with a focus on their approaches in a specific competence area. With the explosion of online training in recent years and with the digital dimension being an ever growing part of training in youth work, the activity intends to give space for trainers to reflect on their practice in the digital environment.
This is not a classical training course in the sense of receiving tools and development of the practical aspect of being a trainer. The focus of a COMETS is more introspective, requiring self-examination of practice, attitude, understanding and behaviour, as well as a desire to improve in one’s practice.
The INTENTIONS of this COMETS are:
- Reflecting on the increase of the digital dimension in the work as trainers
- Reflecting on one’s trainer identity and role as a trainer in digital sphere
- Reflecting on one’s attitudes and values in their work as a trainer in the digital dimension
- Exploring group dynamics in the online context and in the digital dimension as a whole
- Reflecting on one’s responsibility regarding the safety and privacy of participants in the digital context
Every COMETS is based on the COMETS principles.
