ABOUT THE PROJECT
In collaboration with Para Ski Club for People with Disabilities, BRAVO is thrilled to announce an open call for six coaches to participate in the Training of Trainers program for skiing with people with disabilities!
This project aims to promote social inclusion through sports activities and raise awareness of the important role of sports in everyday life. It distinguishes between using sports as an educational tool for working with children and youth and as a mechanism to promote positive values and education of sports workers and coaches. The project plans to transfer knowledge from experts to professionals involved in youth and sports, and ultimately to children and young people. The project will gather 25 trainers from different countries (Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, and Montenegro) according to their skills and preferences connected to the objectives of the program. Through initial training, the trainers will be educated on how to work with children depending on the different possible disabilities or disabilities they may face. The second training will then try to initiate the creation of practical games and workshops based on the previously acquired knowledge. These workshops will not only include sports, but also topics on environmental change and cultural awareness, and coaches will learn how to include them. The training for trainers will be followed by a local activity where the workshops and games will be tested and shaped based on feedback from children and parents. The second phase of implementation is focused on children and involves the organization of two “Mountain games for everyone” events, which aim to bring together children from different national regions and with different disabilities to create diverse and inclusive events. With workshops developed through the previous work program and newly trained coaches, these games will serve as a space for fun and highlight the additional values that adorn sports.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
This training program is designed to provide participants with knowledge and practical experience, crucial for the development of children. It aims to foster a sense of belonging and nurture emotional intelligence alongside engaging physical activities. Participants will dive deeper into theories and practices aimed at enhancing interpersonal skills, fostering empathy, and fostering healthy relationships among children. They will explore strategies to create inclusive environments where every child feels valued and respected, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
The project will delve into the topic of emotional intelligence, equipping educators with tools to help children recognize and manage their emotions effectively. Practical exercises and simulations will be employed to enhance participants’ ability to empathize, communicate constructively, and resolve conflicts, fostering the well-being of children.
The project will focus on physical activities which will be tailored to the unique needs and interests of children. Participants will learn about various types of exercises suitable for different age groups and skill levels, as well as engaging games designed to promote physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork. The project focuses on snow sports and how they can be used to meet the diverse needs of children. Educators will explore innovative approaches to incorporate snow sports into their curriculum, considering factors such as safety, skill development, and inclusivity.
