Conference – Symposium – Forum
17-20 November 2020 | Online, Romania
Bridges for Trainers (BfT) offers a platform to debate on trends and issues related to training in the youth field – national and international.
BfT serves as a platform to contribute to exploring the next steps to be undertaken in the ETS development and to reflect on what role Erasmus+: Youth in Action and the European Solidarity Corps could play in this. BfT takes place every two years and is a conference concept bringing together experienced trainers, other training providers, and Erasmus+: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps NA/SALTO RC staff working with trainers / trainer pools to reflect on trends and core issues in the youth field and effects on the work of trainers.
In 2020, trainers and training providers with existing training strategies for trainers at national or international level are invited to join the first online edition of Bridges for Trainers and explore the changes that the field went through in the past months – mostly due to the COVID-19 crisis, as well as what is ahead of us (role of training, new programmes, change of learning spaces and approaches, etc.).
The main intentions for BfT 2020 are:
- To explore the impact or effects of the COVID-19 crisis in terms of learning and training,
- To explore the emerging role of trainers and training in 2021,
- To provide updates about forthcoming developments (new Programmes, European Youth Work Agenda and new European Training Strategy),
- To reconnect with the community and encourage networking among trainers and training providers.
++++ To avoid taking the risk to have a face-to-face event with a wide audience and high number of participants in Autumn, we have decided to go for an online version that will be spread over the dates initially communicated. However, we do not exclude having a face-to-face smaller event in Spring 2021. This call is however strictly connected to the online event. ++++
Participants’ profile
BfT 2020 will gather ca. 150 participants with the following profiles or roles:
- Trainers experienced in youth workers and youth leaders training (national and international level – attention: no trainers training only young people!);
- Training course providers implementing training strategies for trainers (organisations/institutions); and
- Erasmus+: Youth in Action/European Solidarity Corps NAs/SALTO RCs staff cooperating with trainers and trainer pools.
BfT 2020 is organised and financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action NAs of Romania and SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre and will be moderated by Sorin-Victor Roman (RO), Darko Markovic (RS) and Laimonas Ragauskas (LT).
